Implemented Projects
2020: New home instead of burned
Brista's family burned down the house. The donors financed the reconstruction, and in 3 weeks the family of 5 with a one-month-old baby had a place to live again. One room, clay floor, raised beds, mattress, cot for baby. It's different from ours, but the charm of the home and nice relationships is the same. Thank you!
2019: Bridge to the school in Ambari
A new wooden bridge in front of the Ambari school replaced the old bamboo one. It will help children safely conquer the last canal on their way to school. This is a necessary aid in an area where almost everything is underwater nine months a year. We thank the donors for their financial contribution and wish the children a firm step on their educational path.
2019: Ponds and fish for children from Monoshapara
The investment in the repair of seven ponds at the Monoshapara boarding school will allow breeding of up to 20,000 fish. The money from the sale will enrich the school budget and the children's menu in the school canteen will also be improved. Within five years, the school will repay the amount of proceeds loaned. We wish Monoshapara a big fish haul. And the children to be healthy as a clam!
2019: Gala for BanglaKids
Love takes many forms. In October 26, 2019, it was dressed in a saree. And thanks to celebrities, it helped poor Bangladeshi children. Proceeds of CZK 55,600 from Gala for the 20th birthday of the BanglaKids program will help meet their basic needs. Thank you! :-) The evening was kindly hosted by Barbora Černošková, a sports commentator of Czech TV... Learn more.
2019: Fans are spinning again
Thanks to the support of donors, we installed 30 new fans in the children's bedrooms at the Monoshapara boarding school. The airflow will improve the sleep and rest quality of the children.
The need for new fans continues to persist in other schools. You can help here.
2019: BangaKIDS, a new film by Weef
Veronika Šubrtová, known as Weef, lives with the motto Less Things, More Experiences. At the end of March and the start of April 2019, she visited Adra's Bangladesh projects and made the film BanglaKIDS. She caught on camera the life of Bangladeshi children at the school, where they have been studying thanks to the Chalantika and BanglaKids projects for 20 years. She met the children not just at school but on the street, working in a brick factory or on a landfill...
2019: BanglaBěž (BanglaRun), or the run of Tomáš Poláček’s life
Tomáš Poláček, an adventurer and journalist of the magazine Reportér, is the first Czech to run across Bangladesh. In March 2019, he completed thirteen marathons during two weeks and managed with the help of other donors to collect CZK 206,260 for Bangladeshi children from the slum of Chalantika! During the run Tomáš was supported and accompanied by the BanglaKids team.
2018: Dobroběžka (Helpooter) = scooter that helps children
The traveller and adventurer Marek Jelínek covered 7850 km on a scooter through Asia. His seven month-long journey from India to Singapore went across Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia. In Bangladesh, he met with children of the BanglaKids and Chalantika programs, who will be helped to get an education by the proceeds of the Dobroběžka project.
