2013: New well and two water tanks at the AHTSS Boarding School
In 2013, a well was dug and two water tanks were constructed together with the Maranatha civic association at the AHTSS boarding school, ensuring quality drinking water for more than 600 children, teenagers and teachers who live on the school premises.
There had been a well with low-quality water, causing health problems to both students and teachers. The only source of drinking water was a well, located approximately 20 minutes from the school, from which water had to be carried in canisters to school canteens and living areas. In the dry season, this source was insufficient to cover the needs of the whole school.
The new well is drilled and 67 meters deep. Next to it, there are two concrete tanks, into which groundwater is pumped to the surface. Each of them has a capacity of 25,000 liters. The water is then distributed through pipes to all school buildings and is also available for a few families living in the vicinity of the school.
