2015: New boat for children in Ambari
Children from the Ambari village school have a new boat that will safely transport them to and from school during nine months of the year. There used to be problems with transport – almost all roads, paths and trails for pupils to get to school are underwater in this area of southern Bangladesh due to monsoon rains. The new boat built thanks to the funds from Czech donors solved this problem.
During the ceremony of boat launching, one of the parents, Roshomoy Mondol, told us: "The boat is an absolute necessity for the Ambari school, because the paths are nine months of a year underwater. Together with other parents, we are very happy about the boat. We appreciate the work of the local teacher Promotho Baroy. He teaches our children, is hardworking and also helps them to get to and from school. We know that our children are safe now and we send them to school without fear."
