2019: BangaKIDS, a new film by Weef
Veronika Šubrtová, known as Weef, lives with the motto Less Things, More Experiences. At the end of March and the start of April 2019, she visited Adra's Bangladesh projects and made the film BanglaKIDS. She caught on camera the life of Bangladeshi children at the school, where they have been studying thanks to the Chalantika and BanglaKids projects for 20 years. She met the children not just at school but on the street, working in a brick factory or on a landfill...
The film BanglaKIDS should present the broad public the life of people in Bangladesh, who face various problems on a daily basis like poverty, living in slums, insane working conditions, underpaid work and child marriage..., but most of the problems stem from something much more fundamental: limited access to education. Can you imagine what would your life look like if you couldn't read and write? What would you do for a living and what opportunities could you provide your children with? In the film, Veronika focused on the importance of education and was trying to make people think about the never-ending cycle of poverty.
