KMMS
The KMMS boarding school is located in the south of Bangladesh in the Gopalgonj province, about 180 km far from Dhaka. It was established as early as in 1929. It provides complete primary (1st to 5th grade) and secondary (6th to 12th grade) education. There is rice, tomatoes, various kinds of vegetables, and mangoes grown on the school ground. A nearby fiver fills the school pond where fish for own use is kept. In cooperation with ADRA Bangladesh, we built a water treatment facility (10/2010 – 02/2012) there. The original water source contained dangerous bacteria, too much of iron, and other minerals which caused health problems to children and teachers. The water treatment facility now provides 800 – 1,000 litres of drinking water per day.
